Jacob Westerhouse, the founder and CEO of EFP, started the roots of the company while playing collegiate baseball a the University of North Alabama. While he was always an avid supplement user, his motivation to start making his own supplements came when a pre-workout he was using got flagged for banned substances. This raised a red flag because he very easily could have lost his eligibility to play collegiate sports or even worse, suffer serious health issues.

Jacob began making his own pre-workout in his studio apartment for himself and for teammates. We always joke that it’s a good thing the DEA didn’t bust into the apartment because they would have seen a bunch of mysterious white powders all over the place. Eventually, this spread to friends, friends of friends and complete strangers that were using his pre-workout. This is when he knew he had something good going on.

In March of 2018, Jacob decided to commit to building the brand into something bigger. While there are lots of good supplement companies out there, there are still way too many that don’t know what they are doing. Sadly, there are even more companies that know exactly what they are doing—which is creating the cheapest products possible and selling them as quickly as they can.
