Recently, I was craving something sweet, but didn’t want to blow up my nutrition for the day just because I was hungry and wanted dessert. I had a decent number of calories and macros left, so I came up with this EDGE Protein Chocolate Dip. It is protein packed and has enough fat to use with a mid-day snack to keep you full. It is perfect for a banana, but would have also be great with an apple, spread on a piece of Ezekiel bread, or with pretzels. I may have finished the leftovers with a spoon….. It is super easy to make and keeps well. For the best consistency and texture, let it sit for about 5-10 minutes after mixing well.
EDGE Chocolate Dip
- 1 Scoop EDGE Whey Protein
- 1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter
- 1/2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 packet (1/2 tsp) of Stevia (optional)
- 1 Tablespoon plus 1 tsp of almond Milk
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl until well blended. I like to mix the peanut butter and protein, cocoa, and stevia together then add the milk gradually. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes for best consistency. Makes about 1/3 cup. It stores well in an air-tight container, so you don’t’ have to use it all at once.
